Bishop’s Lodge Wedding in Santa Fe | Taos + Helen
Fall is the most magical time of the year in Santa Fe. The weather is perfect, the entire town smells like piñón, juniper, and roasting green chiles, and the leaves turn the prettiest colors. Helen and Taos knew that this was the time of the year to travel here from their home in California. They decided to do an intimate elopement at Bishop’s Lodge, right outside of Santa Fe.
Helen and Taos met through their love of biking, and have since traveled the world going on adventures and experiencing different cultures. Taos lived in New Mexico for a long time, and was so excited to introduce Helen to one of his favorite places. I happen to love biking and New Mexico as well, so we had a lot of fun sharing stories, and planning a potential bike ride when they visit again in the future.
We spent some time getting to know each other before going out to take pictures. Then Taos brought a small speaker with him, and played the perfect playlist while we explored the grounds and took pictures together.
By the time we moved on to their ceremony it felt like we’d known each other for a long time. At sunset we were joined by Carrie McGill, who officiated their wedding ceremony. As the sun went down, Taos and Helen said their vows and shared the most beautiful ceremony. By the time they were done, the sun had just set under the horizon, and we moved inside for a toast.
By the end of the day, I felt so fortunate to have shared and documented this moment with Helen and Taos. I can’t wait to hear about their honeymoon and future adventures the next time they stop by Santa Fe.
